0% VAT on Solar panels and Heat Pumps

 

On 23rd March 2022, the Chancellor of the Exchequer announced a cut to VAT on energy efficiency materials, including solar panels, heat pumps, and insulation.

These items will be zero-rated for VAT for five years, effective from 1st April 2022.

This tax cut was designed to encourage a broader uptake of renewable energy systems by UK businesses and homeowners.
